According to jail records, Teddy Gentry, a founding member of the band Alabama, was arrested on Monday and charged with a misdemeanour drug offence in the state that carries the band’s name. A Grammy-winning country band is Alabama.

Gentry, 70, was detained on suspicion of unlawful possession of marijuana in the second degree and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office in Alabama.

On Tuesday, a representative for Gentry and the band stated that they would not comment on the circumstance but added that the arrest would not affect their future tour.
