Urvashi Rautela chopped her hair off to show solidarity with Iranian protesters and to demand justice for Mahsa Amini.

In the post that Rautela posted on her Instagram, she wrote – “CHOPPED MY HAIR OFF! cutting my hair in support of Iranian women and girls who have been killed in protests at the death of Mahsa Amini after her arrest by Iranian morality police & for all the girls. And for 19-year-old girl Ankita Bhandari from Uttarakhand.”

Who is Urvashi Rautela?

Urvashi Rautela is an Indian model and actress who has primarily appeared in Hindi films. She was crowned Miss Diva Universe 2015 and represented India in the Miss Universe pageant in 2015.

Rautela was born on February 25, 1994, in Haridwar, to Meera Rautela and Manwar Singh Rautela, both Garhwali Rajputs. Kotdwar is her hometown. Rautela attended Gargi College at the University of Delhi.

Rautela’s first major break came at the age of 15 when she appeared in Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. She was also crowned Miss Teen India 2009. As a teen model, she was a show stopper at Lakme Fashion Week and walked the runway at Amazon Fashion Week, Bombay Fashion Week, and Dubai Fashion Week.

Rautela was crowned Indian Princess 2011, Miss Tourism World 2011, and Miss Asian Supermodel 2011. She was also the first Indian woman to win the Miss Tourism Queen of the Year 2011 pageant, which was held in China. She was also offered Ishaqzaade but declined because she wanted to concentrate on the Miss Universe pageant.

In 2012, she was crowned I AM She – Miss Universe India, as well as receiving a special award for Miss Photogenic. She had to abdicate her throne, however, because she was underage at the time. Rautela returned to the Indian pageantry in 2015 and won the title. She competed in Miss Universe 2015 but did not win.

Rautela made her Bollywood debut as the female lead in Singh Saab The Great, opposite Sunny Deol in 2013. Rautela next appeared in Yo Yo Honey Singh‘s international video album Love Dose, which was released in October 2014.

Soon after, she began working in the South Indian film industry, making her debut in Kannada with Mr. Airavata. Despite the fact that the film received negative reviews from critics, her dance sequence was praised.

Rautela is set to make her Hollywood debut with a film directed by 365 Days famed director Barbara Bialowas. Renata Fonte, a film starring Michele Morrone, will be released on Netflix.
