A home was searched by Las Vegas police on Monday as part of their investigation into the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur. A search warrant was executed by detectives at a house in Henderson close to Wagon Wheel Drive and Interstate 11.

In September 1996, Shakur was shot and died just one block from the Las Vegas Strip at the age of 25. Tupac Shakur’s murder is still unsolved. However, there are several theories about who killed the rapper. According to one theory, the murder was a result of a dispute between East Coast and West Coast rappers, specifically Biggie Smalls, who was assassinated in a drive-by the following year.

Biggie was involved in the raging East Coast-West Coast hip-hop war in 1996. Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur, two former friends, were at the center of a rap feud that was stoked by jealousy and vicious diss tracks.

After Tupac was shot and killed in September 1996, Biggie was widely suspected of being complicit. Six months later, on March 9, 1997, Biggie was also shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles.

The driver of a dark Chevrolet Impala SS, dressed in a suit and bow tie, pulled up alongside the rapper’s SUV at a red traffic light at 12.45 am and shot at the rapper’s car. Biggie was shot four times and passed away at 1.15 am in the hospital. He was 24 years old at the time of his death.

One theory suggests that Sean “Diddy” Combs was the shooter’s intended target and that Biggie was killed accidentally. Combs had received numerous death threats, according to leaked FBI records, and just before the shooting, a guy had approached Combs’ car and been confronted by his security guard.
