Bodybuilding icon Lisa Lyon died at the age of 70 on September 8, as reported by TMZ. As per a media report, Lyon died at her residence in the San Fernando Valley. This tragic news follows closely after TMZ had recently disclosed her battle with cancer.

Lisa died on Friday at her home in the San Fernando Valley, where she was getting hospice care, a close friend who had been helping Lisa and her family told TMZ. Her death was reportedly brought on by stomach cancer.

Career-

Lisa Lyon was an American female bodybuilder and photo model who is regarded as one of female bodybuilding’s pioneers. She was born in Los Angeles, California, on May 13, 1953. Early in her 20s, she started lifting weights, and she soon rose to become one of the most muscular women in the world.

Lyon won the inaugural Women’s World Pro Bodybuilding Championship presented by the International Federation of Bodybuilders in 1979. She had only ever competed in one bodybuilding competition. In order to advocate for female bodybuilding, she made numerous magazine appearances and television talk shows.

Despite continuing to work as a photo model and actor, Lyon gave up bodybuilding in the early 1980s. She also starred in a couple of movies such as “Bert D’Angelo/Superstar” (1976) and “Vamp” (1986).
