Stacy Peterson was the fourth wife of former police sergeant Drew Peterson. Her mysterious disappearance in 2007 added to the suspicions surrounding her husband’s involvement in the death of his third wife.

Stacy Peterson was 23 years old when she disappeared on October 28, 2007, from her home in Bolingbrook, Illinois. She was married to Drew Peterson, a former police sergeant, at the time. Her disappearance led to a massive search effort, but no trace of her was ever found.

Drew Peterson quickly became a suspect in Stacy’s disappearance, and his behavior in the aftermath of her disappearance raised eyebrows. He refused to cooperate with the investigation, and he reportedly told friends that he had killed her and disposed of her body where it would never be found.

Stacy’s disappearance also led to a renewed investigation into the death of Drew Peterson’s third wife, Kathleen Savio. Savio had been found dead in her bathtub in 2004, and her death had initially been ruled accidental. However, suspicions soon arose that Peterson had been involved, and his behavior in the aftermath of her death was called into question.

In 2009, Peterson was charged with Savio’s murder, and his trial began in 2012. During the trial, prosecutors argued that Peterson had killed Savio to prevent her from receiving a portion of his pension in their divorce settlement. The jury ultimately found him guilty of first-degree murder, and he was sentenced to 38 years in prison.
