“Neki kar dariya mein daal” (Be discreet with your kindness )is how I will take this whole incident, said Gaurav Wasan
to Opoyi when asked about his reactions on how an old couple of Malviya Nagar
located eatery joint ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’ filed a police complaint against the
YouTuber for misappropriation of funds.

Wasan
was the first to shoot the video
of the owner of popular eatery ‘Baba Ka Dhaba’
and nearly a month after his video went viral, 80-year-old Kanta Prasad, the
owner, filed a complaint
against him for misappropriation of funds.

Wasan
says that this incident has somehow set the impression that people should stay away from helping others financially.

“When the money is involved, the situation changes that’s why one should always help the needy on humanitarian grounds but don’t involve finances in it because you can see what happens,” he said.

“My only intention of shooting the video was to help
them,” he added.

Funds on Baba's name came to my account from 7th to 8th. Post our announcement there were some people who still donated to my account and that too has been given to Baba.

However, Wasan says he won’t stop himself from doing humanitarian works.

“I
have seen how many people started posting videos of old couples from
different corners of India and I am assuming they got the attention too. So you
can see one small effort can change people’s lives. I will not stop myself from
helping people who are in need for sure because humanity matters a lot,” he
said.

After
the video shot by Wasan on October 7 went viral, Baba ka Dhaba was the cynosure
of many eyes across the country, including celebs from showbiz, who posted
appeals asking people to go there and get themselves a meal.

However,
in his complaint to police, Kanta Prasad had alleged that Wasan
“intentionally and deliberately shared only his and his family/friends
bank details and mobile numbers with the donors and collected huge amount of
donation through different mode of payments i.e bank account/wallets without
providing any information to the complainant”, reports PTI.

The
owner of the food joint also accused the YouTuber of not providing details of
the financial transactions to him.

Wasan
says that his family is the most affected one.

“My
mother is teary-eyed from the past seven days and keeps on asking me about what
will happen now. However, they are strong enough to understand that I did
nothing wrong and they are standing with me in thick and thin,” he said.
