Taylor Swift on Thursday took on the stage – at her Era Tour concert in Tampa – for the first time since it was reported that she and her longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn have broken up.
The Grammy-winning singer introduced her hit single ‘Lover’, which was a romantic tribute to her relationship with Alwyn, saying it is ‘just a love song’. Thousands at the Raymond James Stadium cheered for Swift.
“We’re going to go on a grand adventure this evening, take a little trip through 17 years of music, one era at a time. These songs are about my life or about fictional characters I’ve created, but at the end of the day I hope these songs can be part of your life,” Taylor Swift said.

Now, Taylor Swift has a reputation of recording songs for her boyfriends – current and former – especially after breakups. Songwriter Ne-Yo told TMZ that she has all the inspiration to create a song on Joe Alwyn.
He said that Swift will not have to suffer through the breakup as much as a regular person.
“Just realised Taylor will be rerecording Reputation songs dedicated to Joe,” one Twitter user said.
“The song we are going to play next, it’s just a love song, you know?” she then added.
“Ok but if Taylor and Joe have broken up love is literally fake because how could she have written so many beautiful songs about him and he turns out to not be her person,” another one added.
Taylor Swift apparently wrote songs about Joe Alwyn when the two were together.
“Joe and I really love sad songs. We’ve always bonded over music. We write the saddest. We just really love sad songs. What can I say?” Swift told Zane Lowe on his Apple Music show in December 2022.
“And I say it was a surprise that we started writing together, but in a way, it wasn’t because we have always bonded over music and had the same musical tastes. And he’s always the person who’s showing me songs by artists and then they become my favorite songs.”
