This%20kheer%20was%20not%20named%20by%20the%20Awadhi%20chefs%20as%20they%20did%20not%20wanted%20to%20reveal%20its%20secret%20ingredient%2C%20which%20is%20quite%20unique%20for%20a%20sweet%20dish%20and%20that%20is%20Garlic.%20Shocked%2C%20right%3F%20Yes%2C%20garlic%20makes%20the%20benami%20kheer%20more%20authentic%20and%20amazing%20sweet%20dish%20to%20try.

Kheer%20was%20named%20from%20the%20Sanskrit%20word%20%u2018Ksheer%u2019%20which%20is%20basically%20a%20milk%20pudding%20prepared%20from%20vermicelli%20or%20rice%20grains.%20Later%20this%20dish%20was%20tried%20with%20several%20new%20items%20like%20fruits%20and%20vegetables.

Ashish%20Bhasin%2C%20head%20Chef%20of%20The%20Leela%20Palace%20in%20Gurugram%20and%20The%20Leela%20Palace%20in%20Delhi%20told%20NDTV%20about%20the%20uniqueness%20of%20this%20desert.%20He%20said%2C%26nbsp%3B%22Benami%20kheer%20also%20known%20as%20lehsun%20ki%20kheer%20originated%20in%20the%20royal%20court%20of%20Awadh.%20This%20kheer%20is%20called%20Benami%20Kheer%20as%20initially%20the%20ingredients%20were%20kept%20secret%20and%20the%20name%20was%20not%20disclosed%3B%20%22Benami%22%20means%20%27without%20a%20name%27.%20The%20real%20test%20in%20making%20this%20kheer%20lies%20in%20the%20skill%20removing%20the%20pungency%20of%20garlic%20by%20blanching%20them%20in%20alum%20water%20and%20rendering%20it%20entirely%20odourless%20making%20its%20slivers%20mimic%20slivers%20of%20almond.%22
