British Margaret Keenan, 90, made history on Tuesday. She became the first person in the world to be administered Pfizer’s approved COVID-19 vaccine, reported AFP quoting BBC, as the UK started its mass vaccination programme.
Keenan from Northern Ireland told BBC that said she felt “so privileged” to receive the jab at University Hospital, Coventry. Hubs in the UK will vaccinate over-80s and some health and care staff. The programme aims to protect the most vulnerable and return life to normal.
According to BBC, Keenan’s was administered vaccine by Matron May Parsons at 6:30 am GMT.

The UK is the first country in the world to start using the Pfizer vaccine after regulators approved its use last week.
