Beijing-born film director Chloe Zhao was initially known for her work on indie films but has quickly risen to international fame. Her first feature film, ‘Songs My Brothers Taught Me’ (2015), premiered at the famed Sundance Film Festival and received plaudits from film critics across the world. Her second feature, ‘The Rider’ (2017) received a similar reception.

However, Zhao got the break of her career with her 2020 film, ‘Nomadland’, which received dozens of nominations for international awards, winning several. ‘Nomadland’ went on to win the Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress awards at the 93rd Academy Awards, and also bagged the coveted Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival.

Subsequently, she joined MCU and made ‘Eternals’ (2021).
