Stone pelters attacked BJP President, JP Nadda, and Kailash Vijayvargiya’s convoys in West Bengal while the leaders were on their way to Diamond Harbour on Thursday, reported ANI

According to ANI, Kailash Vijayvargiya and Mukul Roy sustained injuries in the attack and expressed disappointment with the brutal attack.

“I have been injured in this attack. The party president’s car was also attacked. We strongly condemn it. In the presence of police, goons attacked us. It felt as if we were not in our own country.” ANI quoted Kailash Vijayvargiya as saying.

Mukul Roy also demanded imposition of President Rule in the region.

“Looking at today’s situation, President’s rule should be immediately imposed in West Bengal.” Roy said

Party President, JP Nadda also condemned the attack and called outcried the lawlessness prevalent in the state.

BJP leader Anupam Hazra alleged that the attacks were pre-planned and Bengal police supported the goons. 

“This was a pre-planned attack, the police were helping the protestors. Many BJP workers have been injured. There is no democracy in West Bengal.” said BJP leader Anupam Hazra

West Bengal BJP President, Dilip Ghosh, also criticized the vicious assault by calling it ‘a black day in the history of Indian politics’.

Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar also  to condemn the ghastly attack in a series of tweets and highlighted that happening of such incidents despite official orders to maintain peace indicates the state of law and order in West Bengal.

BJP leaders also claimed that stones were hurled at BJP leader Deepanjan Guha’s vehicle as well when the leaders were reportedly heading meet party workers for the Bengal elections brief.
