The Centre has announced coronavirus vaccination for children aged 15-18  from January 3, 2022. RS Sharma, CoWIN platform chief, on Monday announced that children will be able to register on the CoWIN app from January 1, 2022.

According to Sharma, children will be required to submit their student ID Cards to register on the CoWIN portal because some of them may not have Aadhaar or other government identity cards.

Covaxin is the only vaccine that will be administered to children of 15-18 years.

The registration process to book a vaccination slot is the same as earlier.

Below are the steps for  registration:

Step 1- Open the CoWIN page and enter your mobile number to get your OTP.

Step 2- Enter the OTP and verify your mobile number. Once your number is verified, the registration page appears and three registrations can be made with one mobile number.

Step 3- Register by filling in the required details and schedule your vaccination.

Step 4- While registering, for ID proof, children can upload their school ID Card.
