Maxwell will feature in Royal Challengers Bangalore’s upcoming match against
Mumbai Indians at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on April

Maxwell has already served the mandatory quarantine period and joined the RCB but will not play
against RR at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Tuesday due to
Cricket Australia’s policy for its contracted players. As per CA’s clause no
contracted player can play the IPL before April 6.
Maxwell
is not part of the Australia squad that will play Pakistan on Tuesday in a
one-off T20I in Lahore to complete a month-long Pakistan tour.
“It’s
pretty clear from Cricket Australia’s point of view that no contracted players
are available before the 6th of April. So, regardless of when they arrive here,
they can’t play before the 6th of April,” Hesson said in a video shared on
RCB’s official Twitter page.
“We
have been well aware of that as every other side. We have planned for that.
Maxi (Maxwell) will be with us and available from the 9th.” RCB has so far
played two games this season, recording one win and a loss.
Nevertheless,
Maxwell’s arrival will come as a boost to RCB who are currently struggling at the seventh position on the IPL 2022 points table.
The
right-handed batter was in destructive form in the BBL. The Melbourne Stars
captain slammed an unbeaten 154 against Hobart Hurricanes.
In
all, in 13 matches, Maxwell scored 468 runs at an average of 42.54.

Meanwhile,
Maxwell tied the knot with his Indian-origin girlfriend Vini Raman on March 27.
In IPL 2021, Maxwell was instrumental in taking RCB to the playoffs last
season. He scored consistently in the middle order alongside chipping in with
his handy off-breaks.
