A cricketer from Pune, Maharashtra died due to heart attack on the pitch as he was playing a match. 47-year-old Babu Nalawade who lived in Junnar taluka, was playing a match and collapsed suddenly on February 17 as teams Jambuth sangh and Ojhar sangh were playing against each other.
Nalwade was instantly taken to the hospital, however the doctors declared him dead after he reached. After this tragic incident, the family and friends are not able to believe that he died. Though, this is not the first incident that a cricketer has died on the ground.
In 2014, Philip Hughes of Australia died on the pitch, after a bouncer struck his head, which led him to collapse. After which Hughes was in coma for 3 days and died after that. His age was just 26 when he died.
