The full schedule of events to honour Queen Elizabeth II‘s Platinum Jubilee this year has been released by Buckingham Palace.
The Queen’s 70th year on the reign will be marked by street gatherings, a performance featuring some of the world’s “greatest entertainment icons,” and a chance to see her homes up close.
From the 2nd through the 5th of June, there will be a four-day UK bank holiday weekend.

The first event, a competition to develop a new pudding to commemorate the Queen’s reign, begins on Monday.
Finalists will be judged by an expert panel that includes Dame Mary Berry and Monica Galetti from Masterchef.
The winning recipe will be made public, and the pudding will be served during the bank holiday weekend at Big Jubilee Lunches.
The Queen will become the first British monarch to mark a 70-year reign with a Platinum Jubilee on February 6th.
Throughout the year, there will be a series of celebrations.

The first week in June has been chosen for the celebrating weekend, as it was for the Queen’s Golden and Diamond Jubilees, with the summer having a better chance of excellent weather than February.
The late May Spring Bank Holiday will be shifted to 2 June, and an additional one-off bank holiday on 3 June will be created to provide the four-day weekend.
It’s unclear which events the Queen will personally attend. After an overnight hospital visit in October, her medical staff urged her to rest for several weeks.

In honour of the platinum jubilee, there will be puddings, parties, parades, and pageants.
Because it hasn’t happened before, there isn’t exactly a framework for commemorating a British monarch’s 70-year reign.

The closest was Queen Victoria’s 63 years, while the next closest was Louis XIV of France, who lived to be 72 years old.
The jubilee offers the comforting prospect of a four-day bank holiday in June, with concerts, parties, and pubs open until 1am, during this dreary mid-Covid winter.
The “platinum pudding” competition follows in the footsteps of royal-themed delicacies such as Coronation Chicken, which was created in 1953 for the Queen’s coronation. As a result, expect a lot of silly puns.
The ceremonies also serve as a reminder of how important the Queen has been during her reign. According to recent research, she is the only queen that 85 percent of the population has ever known.
This will serve as a reminder of many people’s recollections.

60,000 trees have already been planted as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy effort to commemorate the year, with people invited to “plant a tree for the jubilee.”
