The Shaanxi Y-8 or Yunshuji-8 aircraft, based on the Soviet Antonov An-12, is a medium-sized medium-range transport aircraft developed by Shaanxi Aircraft Corporation in China. With several modifications built and exported, it has become one of China’s most popular military and civilian transport/cargo aircraft. Despite the fact that the An-12 is no longer manufactured in Ukraine, the Chinese Y-8 is being improved and produced. By 2010, an estimated 169 Y-8 aircraft had been produced.
