Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, will undertake a two-day visit to Maharashtra on Saturday, when he will open a new building on the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) campus and attend a number of public events, including the co-operative council conference.  

During his two-day visit to the state, the home minister will have a tight schedule, according to a report by ANI news agency.

As per a top government official cited by the agency, Amit Shah would worship at the iconic Shirdi temple at 11:15 am on Saturday, the first day of his travel to Maharashtra. The home minister will thereafter take part in the distribution of the Padmashree Dr Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil Literary Award.

The Cooperation Council Conference and the Sahakar Parishad Conference are the next two events on Shah’s schedule for the afternoon in Maharashtra’s Loni area. 

At roughly 6 pm, the Union home minister will arrive in Mumbai, the state capital, for the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) National Award Distribution Ceremony.

On December 19, Amit Shah will travel to Pune, where he will begin his day at 10 am with a visit to the city’s Shrimant Dagdusheth Ganpati Temple.

Later, at 11 am, he will inaugurate the aforementioned new building on the CFSL campus in Pune, and then at 1 pm, he will attend ‘Bada Khana’ with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel, which is a practise in the Indian Army and paramilitary organisations to prepare lunch or dinner on important days. 

He will further reportedly go to the Pune campus of the Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management (VAMNICOM), a grant-in-aid institution under the Union ministry of cooperation, to attend the convocation ceremony there at 2 pm.

After nearly an hour at the event, the home minister will proceed to the Pune Municipal Corporation at about 3.45 pm to lay the foundations for the sculptures of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Babasaheb Ambedkar. 

Finally, at 4.40 pm, on Sunday, the minister will visit a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Pune city workers’ meeting at the Ganesh Kala Sports Centre in Pune. According to the news agency, he would also pay homage to Babasaheb Purandare at his residence at around 6.45 pm.
