Amritpur assembly constituency has Jitendra Yadav of the Samajwadi Party (SP) taking on Sushil Kumar Shakya of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Amit Kumar Singh of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), and Shubham Tiwari of the Congress this year in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

Sushil Kumar Shakya had won the seat in 2017 when the BJP swept Uttar Pradesh winning 312 of UP’s 403 assembly seats. Yadav had beaten his closest rival Narendra Singh Yadav of the SP by over 40,000 votes. 

In 2012, the seat was won by Narendra Singh Yadav.

Amritpur Assembly constituency is falling under Farrukhabad Lok Sabha constituency.

The constituency will vote in the third phase of the Uttar Pradesh elections on February 20, 2022, along with 58 other constituencies in 16 districts. Uttar Pradesh will vote in seven rounds, with the last round on March 3. 

Results will be declared on March 10, along with those for elections in four other states, including neighbouring Uttarakhand.
