Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has removed the cap on
the number of visitors to its centrally protected monuments or sites, tweeted
news agency ANI.

According to ANI, the Ministry of Culture has further stated
that the selling of physical tickets maybe resumed in places where problems of
QR code and network have occurred, while also allowing sound and light shows to
be resumed.

As per a report by the Press Information Bureau, the move comes
as part of latest SOPs for the Centrally Protected Monuments/Sites issued by the
ASI on December 18, 2020 to the Regional Directors and Superintendent Archaeologists.

The PIB report further states that the number of visitors to
be allowed per day will be decided by the concerned SA as well as the concerned
District Magistrate, who would also be the Chairman of the District Disaster
Management Committee.

Reportedly, all centrally protected monuments and sites
shall continue to be under COVID-19 protocols issued by the Ministry of Home
Affairs as well as Ministry of Family Welfare and Ministry of Culture.
