Aryan Khan, son of
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, was granted bail by the Bombay High Court
on Thursday. Along with Aryan, his friend Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha,
co-accused in the case, were also granted bail. However, the star-kid and
others will not be released today because the court will put out the detailed
order on Friday and his release is likely to be secured by either Friday or
Saturday.

“Bombay High Court
has granted bail to Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant, Munmun Dhamecha after hearing
the arguments for three days. The detailed order will be given tomorrow.
Hopefully, they will come out of jail by tomorrow or Saturday,” said senior lawyer
Mukul Rohatgi, who represented Aryan Khan in the case.

Rohatgi, who came
on to argue for Aryan Khan before the Bombay High Court after a special NDPS
court refused to grant him bail, said that he was happy at the outcome of the
hearing. “For me, it is a regular case — to win some, to lose some. I am happy
that he (Khan) has got bail,” the former attorney general of India was quoted
saying after the hearing.

In course of the
hearing, Mukul Rohatgi argued that there was “no case of possession of drugs”
against Aryan Khan and that he was arrested wrongly and “it was a fit case for
bail”.

Aryan Khan, 23,
has spent nearly 25 days in the Arthur Road Jail in judicial custody. Aryan
Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha were arrested in the drugs-on-cruise
case after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raided a luxury cruise liner off
the Mumbai coast on October 3.

On October 8, Khan was sent to judicial custody.
A few days ago, a special NDPS court denied him bail after which he decided to
approach the high court. A total of 20 people, including two Nigerian
nationals, have been arrested in the case so far.
