Australia coach Justin Langer on Sunday drew parallels between
Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya’s match-finishing innings during the second
T20 International match between India and Australia at SCG, putting him side by
side with former Indian Captain MS Dhoni, reported PTI.

Pandya, on Sunday, ended the game in India’s favour with
a stormy 42 not-out from 22 balls, as he drew down the curtains on the series,
giving the Men in Blue a 2-0 lead with two balls to spare.

“It
was an incredible spectacle of a game. We know how dangerous he (Pandya) is. In
the past we had MS Dhoni and the way he (Pandya) played today,” PTI quoted
Langer as saying in the post-match press conference.

The
Australia coach further said that he thought the match was very much competitive, pointing
out that India, ultimately, having more experienced T20 players, took the game
away.

“He
has played really well all summer so, obviously it was a great innings in the
end there”, he added, referring to Pandya.

Reflecting
on the match, Langar noted that the initial thoughts for their side was that
they had enough runs to defend and that India had to bat extraordinarily well
to win the match.
