The Haryana and Delhi Police have issued separate advisories on the traffic situation for Tuesday, keeping in mind the nationwide ‘Bharat Bandh’ called by farmers protesting against the Centre’s new farm laws.

Haryana Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Navdeep Singh Virk reportedly said that the elaborate arrangements have been made by the civil and police administration, according to directions of the state government and keeping in mind the COVID-19 pandemic.

The main national highways, including Delhi-Ambala (NH-44), Delhi-Hisar (NH-9), Delhi-Palwal (NH-19) and Delhi to Rewari (NH-48) reportedly might see some traffic disruptions, with the peak time being between 12 pm and 3 pm. 

The Delhi Police has also made arrangements to ensure ‘smooth movement’ of people on roads during the ‘Bharat Bandh’ on Tuesday. Information has been released on Twitter regarding the various roads that are closed, and the alternative routes that can be taken.

The following are the roads closed in Delhi:

1. Singhu, Auchandi, Piao Maniyari, Mangesh, Tikri and Jharoda borders are closed.

2.The National Highway-44 has been closed on both sides. Alternative routes include Lampur, Safiabad and Saboli borders. Traffic has also been diverted from Mukarba and GTK road.

3. Those travelling towards Noida have been advised to take the DND flyway, as the Chilla border on the Noida Link road will be closed for traffic.

4. The Ghazipur border on NH-24 is also closed for traffic from Gaziabad to Delhi. Apsara, Bhopra or the DND can be used for entering the national capital. 

5. The Badusarai border is open only for light motor vehicles like cars and two-wheelers, and Jhatikara border is open only for two-wheeler traffic.

6. Those travelling to Haryana can take the route via Dhansa, Daurala, Kapashera, Rajokri NH-8, Bijwasan or Bajghera, Palam Vihar and Dundahera borders.
