In the 44th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Chairman of the company Mukesh Ambani on Thursday announced that Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Chairman of Saudi Aramco and Governor PIF, joined the Reliance board.
“I welcome Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Chairman of Saudi Aramco and Governor of PIF, to join the Board of Reliance Industries as Independent Director. His joining our Board is also the beginning of internationalisation of Reliance”, said Ambani, reported ANI.

In the meeting, Ambani said, “Our business and financial success since last Annual General Meeting has exceeded expectations. But what has given me more happiness than our business performance is RIL’s humanitarian efforts during these difficult times”.
“In 2016, we launched Jio with the aim of bridging Digital Divide in India. Now, in 2021, we are launching our new energy business with the aim of bridging the green energy divide in India and globally”, added Ambani.

Ambani also announced the introduction of the Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy plan into RIL. The objective of the plan is to increase the usage of renewable energy in India. Ambani is also the Chairman and largest shareholder of RIL, and the founder of Reliance Jio.
The previous AGM of Reliance was held in July 2020. All directors, chief financial officers (CFO), secretaries and representatives of the company were attended the 44th AGM. Many shareholders attended the event virtually from home.
