As the COVID-19 pandemic rages, several cities and countries across the world have been under a lockdown or partial curfews. While keeping ourselves in our homes all the time can be tough, some have gone as far as breaking the rules to go out of their confined boundaries into the outside world with explanations and justifications prepared. 

Here are a few incidents of people breaking the lockdown rules with bizarre reasons to do so.

“My hen has constipation issues

A man in the Gadag district of Karnataka told police his hen was suffering from constipation and he was on his way to a veterinary surgeon. It is not known if the hen really had constipation issues, but the police laughed at this and sent him back home, reported Times Now.

“Taking beehive to a field”

On March 27, 2020, Devon and Cornwall Police in England on Twitter said that the top two reasons people stated for being at the checkpoint stop site in Cullompton was “I’m taking a beehive to a field” and “ I’m taking a Playstation to my mate’s house”. The police said that both were sent back home with words of advice.

“Medical emergency”

Mumbai Police on their social media handles made a list of excuses that they heard from people during the pandemic. From calling It a medical emergency to saying that they needed some vada pav, they have heard it all. And the hashtags on the post reads “ExcuseNotOKPlease”, “HeardOnDuty”, “TakingOnCorona”.

Food shopping

When police in Spain stopped a man on a motorbike, he said that he had come out only to buy some bread. While this sounded like an important reason at first, police found out that he lived 21 kilometres and five towns from where they were. Unsurprisingly, he was sent back home, reported TRT World.
