Media reports about CoWin Digital Platform not working are incorrect and are without any basis, reported ANI quoting a statement released by the Centre. This comes hours after media reports stated that the portal crashed as soon as the registration for coronavirus vaccine began for people above 18 began on Wednesday.
“It continues to work smoothly. More than 80 lakh people registered themselves on the portal between 4-7pm today,” said the Centre.

The registration for phase 4 began on Wednesday at 4pm but many users faced problems. Aarogya Setu tweeted, “There was a minor glitch at 4 PM that was fixed. 18 plus can register.” People who want to take the vaccine can register on www.cowin.gov.in.
India is at present using Serum Institute’s Covishield and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin to inoculate people. The country has been grappling with more than 3 lakh infections daily and on Wednesday death toll due to coronavirus crossed the two-lakh mark.
