Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday shared his thoughts on women empowerment during his monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’ and Bollywood actors Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor Khan came forward in full support of him.
Deepika Padukone took to Twitter and retweeted his excerpts from his address with, Mahatma Gandhi’s “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

Kareena Kapoor Khan also came in support of the PM sharing a post on Instagram that read:
“From flying non-stop commercial flights to taking part in Republic Day parades, women’s participation is increasing manifold. Desh ki Beti today is fearless, courageous and an equal participant in nation-building activities.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the first episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ in 2021 and the primary topic for discussion was the participation of the women of the country in various fields.
He also emphasised on the historic move where Air India’s longest route flight with an all-women team landed Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru from San Francisco on January 11. The flight travelled for about 16,000 kilometres.
In his speech, the PM said, “You must have observed that this time in the Republic Day Parade, two women Air Force Officers created history. Whatever be the area, the participation of females in continuously increasing.”
