Karishma Prakash, the manager of Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone has been summoned for investigation on Wednesday, reported ANI quoting Sameer Wankhede, the Zonal Director of Narcotics Control Bureau, Mumbai.
Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan had been questioned by the anti-drugs bureau in September in the drugs probe linked to Rajput’s death and an alleged Bollywood-drugs nexus.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had also seized the mobile phones of actors Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, and Rakul Preet Singh over an ongoing drug probe linked to actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
Karishma Prakash had previously been questioned for 7 hours by the NCB in September and was also present when Deepika had recorded her statement to the anti-drugs bureau.
A wider drug-nexus in Bollywood had emerged following investigation into the death of Sushant Singh Rajput who was found dead in his apartment in Bandra on June 14. The investigation was launched in Rajput’s death following an FIR filed by her family, the Mumbai Police had initially ruled it as a case of suicide.
The AIIMS Delhi in October also ruled out possibilities of foul play in the suicide of Sushant Singh Rajput.
The anti-drugs probing agency had arrested Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty for their alleged role in procuring drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput.
