Defence Minister Rajnath Singh performed ‘Shastra Puja’ at the Sukna War Memorial in West Bengal’s Darjeeling on Sunday. The Puja was performed in the presence of Army Chief General Manoj Mukund.
He said, “India wants that the Indo-China border tension should end & peace should be preserved. Also, I am confident that our army will not let anyone take even an inch of our land.”
The BJP leader, who is on a short visit to West Bengal and Sikkim, will tour the border areas of China and is slated to interact with the Indian Army.
Singh paid tribute at the Sukna War Memorial in Darjeeling. During his visit, the Defence Minister emphasised that India wants to end border tensions with China and preserve peace.
The minister also inaugurated the Alternate Alignment Gangtok – Nathula Road via video conferencing from the Headquarters of 33 Corps in Sukna, Darjeeling.
