England on Sunday announced its 14-member squad for the upcoming One
Day International series against India, minus an injured Jofra Archer suffering
an elbow injury. The pacer will be missing out on the entire ODI series as well
as the beginning of the Indian Premier League in April, reported PTI.

Archer played in all five matches of the recently concluded T20 series,
which India won with a score of 3-2.

“Archer is returning to the UK
for further management and investigation of his right elbow injury. He has been deemed unfit for
selection for the ODI series that features matches on 23, 26 and 28
March,” a statement by England and Wales Cricket Board read, as per PTI.

Three additional players who were
part of the recently concluded T20 series, Jake Ball, Chris Jordan and Dawid
Malan, will accompany the squad as cover.

Archer had earlier missed two of the
four Test matches against India for the same issue.

The recent exclusion would mean a
removal from the squad ahead of the ODI series in Pune, as well as a delayed catch-up
with the team in this year’s Indian Premier League, where the pacer is set to represent
Rajasthan Royals.
