The Republic Day tractor rally by farmers, who are protesting against the Centre’s farm laws for over a month now, will feature tableaux from across states depicting village life, their demonstrations against the agri laws, and hailing their courage, the organisers have said, reports PTI.
The parade will likely start from the five border points of Delhi, Singhu, Tikri, Ghazipur, Palwal and Shahjahanpur, where farmers have been camping in protest against farm laws since November 28, said a member of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM).
He added that the parade will commence after the official Republic Day parade will conclude, and it will cover a distance of more than 100 kilometres before culminating around 6 pm.

Around one lakh tractor-trolleys from across India will participate in the parade on January 26, a farmer leader told PTI, adding that directions have issued to prepare tableaux for the parade to all organisations participating in the agitation.
The farmer leader said that nearly 30% of the tractor trolleys participating in the protest will have tableaux on different themes that will include the farmers’ movement in India, the role of women farmers, and farming practices of different states.
A member of Swaraj India said that a few children from Maharashtra’s Vidarbha region have planned a tableau on farmer suicides.
“Their tableau will depict the hardships faced by farmers of the region that faces water scarcity.”
