Since its first reporting in China’s Wuhan, the deadly coronavirus has everyday posed new challenges. Pharma giants in the UK, US, India have developed vaccines that have over 50% efficacy. The UK started vaccination programme on December 8. According to World Health Organisation (WHO), there have been 68,845,368 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,570,304 deaths, reported on December 11, 2020.
The WHO has revised its symptom list and guidelines trying to help the countries to stop the spread of the deadly virus. Many European nations have imposed lockdown as second wave hit the region.
The second wave of infections has also opened the possibility of a third, and a fourth, further highlighting the urgency of a vaccine.
