Gold prices fell on Tuesday after hitting crucial levels near $2,000 per ounce the day before. The attraction of gold was weakened by a rising dollar.

As the Ukraine conflict went on and inflation fears grew, gold rose to $1,998.10 on Monday, boosted by safe-haven demand. However, when the dollar and US 10-year Treasury yields firmed, the metal gave up most of its gains.

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) increased marginally on Tuesday, April 19, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 53,280.00 per 10 gm, up 8 points or 0.02%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 70,026.00 per kg, up 50 points or 0.07%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,977.08 per oz while Silver is priced at $25.81. Platinum was trading at $1,017.65 while palladium was trading at $2,419.92.

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 52,320 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 70,109 per kg on Monday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.

Copper futures were trading at Rs 838.80 up 0.21% while Natural Gas and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 595.80 and Rs 273.50 per Kg respectively on MCX.

In Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being procured at Rs 49,850, as per the Good Returns website. Whereas in Chennai, 10 grams of the much-in-demand metal is being sold at Rs 50,470.

The 24-carat gold rate, 10 grams of the valuable metal in Mumbai, New Delhi, and Kolkata is being obtained at Rs 54,380. The same amount of 24-carat purity in Chennai is being sold for Rs 55,060.

In Surat and Nashik, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being traded at Rs 49,900 and Rs 49,880 respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is sold at Rs 54,430 in Surat and Rs 54,460 in Nashik.

In Kerala, Hyderabad and Bengaluru, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being procured at a price of Rs 49,850. Similarly, in Vijayawada, Mangalore and Mysore, the same quantity of 22-carat purity is also being traded at Rs 49,850. However, 10 grams of 24-carat gold in all the above areas is being sold at Rs 54,380.

In Jaipur and Coimbatore, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being obtained at Rs 49,950 and Rs 50,470 respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is priced at Rs 54,480 in Jaipur and Rs 55,060 in Coimbatore.

In Nagpur and Chandigarh, 10 grams of 22-carat gold is being purchased at Rs 49,880 and Rs 49,950 respectively. The same quantity of 24-carat purity is being sold at Rs 54,460 in Nagpur and Rs 54,480 in Chandigarh.
