President Ram Nath Kovind turned 75 on Thursday. Kovind was born on this day in 1945 at Paraunkh village in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. 

“I convey my heartiest greetings to the Hon’ble President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind ji on his birthday today. He is known for his simplicity, warmth, vision, exemplary leadership and concern for the poor,” tweeted Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu.

“May he be blessed with good health and a long life,” he added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also wished the President on his birthday. “His rich insights and wise understanding of policy matters are great assets for our nation. He is extremely compassionate towards serving the vulnerable. I pray for his good health and long life,” he tweeted.

Wishing Kovind, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh described him as a “thoughtful and considerate” person, who has a “good understanding of subjects and policies”.

“The country is benefiting from his experience. I wish him longevity and good health,” he tweeted in Hindi.

“My prayers for your healthy and long life. Your steady support and well-considered guidance are much valued,” tweeted Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharam.

Home Minister Amit Shah also wished the President. 

“Your dedication to the welfare and empowerment of the poor and deprived sections of the country inspires us all,” he tweeted in Hindi.

President Kovind was sworn-in as India’s 14th President on July 25, 2017.
