Bollywood diva Priyanka Chopra Jonas along with husband Nick Jonas have managed to raise $ 1 million to help the people of India, who are battling the second wave of COVID-19. The second wave has brought the country’s healthcare to a breaking point with a lack of beds, oxygen, and other medical equipment.
The couple started a fundraiser in association with GiveIndia and more than 14,000 donors have contributed to the fundraiser, taking the donation amount to $ 1 million.

Priyanka took to their social media handles to thank all those who made contributions for COVID-19 relief in India.
“Through some of the darkest days in our history, humanity has once against proven that we are better together. @nickjonas and I are so humbled by your support and by the outpouring of help for India from so many parts of the world. Over 14,000 good Samaritans opened their hearts and helped us raise $ 1 million in these trying times,” wrote Priyanka.
She further mentioned that the money collected from the fundraiser will be used to deploy oxygen concentration and vaccines to help India.
The couple has also informed that they have now raised the target of the fundraiser to $ 3 million so more citizens can offer charity and help India.
Priyanka is an active user of social media and few weeks ago she appealed to Joe Biden, the president of the United States, to urgently send vaccines to India so that the country can fight the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
