Spanish striker Igor Angulo scored twice within a space of three minutes on his debut for FC Goa as they rallied back from a two-goal deficit to share the spoils with Bengaluru FC at the Fatorda Stadium on Sunday.

The Gaurs started on the front foot and dominated possession throughout the first half, but it was the designated away team that scored first at the 28 minute-mark.

Although without the ball for much of the half, Bengaluru were the first to test Goa goalkeeper Mohammad Nawaz, with a couple of efforts on target from skipper Sunil Chhetri and winger Ashique Kurunian, although without much of a threat.

The goal came from a long throw-in into the Goa penalty area, which was poorly cleared away into the path of the on-rushing Cleiton Silva at the far post for a simple header to take the lead.

Bengaluru had another chance before the end of the half with a. brilliant backheel from Silva setting up Chhetri perfectly only for Indian captain to scuff his shot.

12 minutes into the second half, the 2018 champions doubled their lead with substitute Deshorn Brown involved in the build-up, heading a cross-field ball to Erik Paartalu, who himself found Juanan unmarked in front of goal with a cushioned header for a tap-in.

However, Goa kept their interests alive by pulling one back just 10 minutes later, with Angulo scoring with a neat finish at the far post after being sent clear through on goal with a well-timed through ball by substitute Alberto Noguera.

Just three minutes later, the Spanish striker got on the end of a cross from substitute Alexander Jesuraj inside the six-yard box to draw the Gaurs level.

With momentum on their side, Goa went to dominate the rest of the match but neither side created any notable chances as the game petered out in a draw.

Goa will next be in action on November 25, when they take on Mumbai City, with Bengaluru facing Hyderabad FC on November 28.
