Australia was bowled out for 289 runs in the third and the last
ODI of the series on Wednesday at Canberra, as visitors India, avoided a clean sweep
by winning the match by a margin of 13 runs. Australia, however, emerged victorious in the ODI series winning the limited over format 2-1.

Batting ahead in the first innings, the Men in Blue managed
to put up a score of 302 with a loss of five wickets.

Captain Virat Kohli dragged the top order on, which, aside
from Shubman Gill, lacked any major performances. Both Shikhar Dhawan (16 off
27) and Shreyas Iyer (19 off 21) failed to make an impact. The middle-order was
anchored upon the innings played by Hardik Pandya (92 from 76 balls) and
Ravindra Jadeja (66 runs from 50 balls). Both remained unbeaten in their
respective innings.

The Australian opening duo of Steve Smith and Marcus
Labuschagne both scored 7 each, as firepower from T Natarajan and Shardul
Thakur did not let them settle on the crease. Aaron Finch (75 off 82 balls) built
a solid base to establish the Aussie innings.

Though initially slow and choppy, victory seemed possible
for the Baggy Greens with Glenn Maxwell in the batting order, as the 59 off 38
balls from him, paired alongside Cameron Green (21 off 26) and Alex Carey (38 runs off 42 balls) turned the match
into a 50-50 affair.

However, Bumrah’s yorker cleaning off Maxwell’s stumps visibly
shook the team, as in quick succession Sean Abbott and Ashton Agar left the
field, credits to Shardul Thakur and T Natarajan yet again.

The last wicket of Zampa became subject to the DRS, as Bumrah’s full
length delivery hit his pads. With the third umpire judging the delivery an out,
India won the contest by 13 runs.
