India beat Australia by a margin of 11 runs at the Manuka
Oval in Canberra on Friday, AFP reported.

Batting first, KL Rahul scored the highest for India with
the bat (51 off 40 balls) as Jadeja stayed unbeaten till the end, aiding the flow
of runs with a score of 44 from 23 balls. As a result, India scored a total of
161 with the loss of seven wickets at the end of 20 overs.

From the Australian ranks, Moises Henriques was the most
successful bowler, boasting bowling figures of 3/22.

Coming down to chase the target of 162, Australia could only
reach 150 in their stipulated 20 overs with the loss of seven wickets.

Captain Aaron Finch (35) scored the most for the Baggy
Greens, as Yuzvendra Chahal and T Natarajan did major damage to the Aussie
batting order, picking up three wickets apiece for India.

Chahal’s 3/25 in his four overs
had a massive role to play in clinching that triumph, and he was justly rewarded
the Man of the Match for the feat.

“Ravindra Jadeja was hit
on the helmet in the final over of the first innings of the first T20I.
Yuzvendra Chahal will take the field in the 2nd innings as a concussion
substitute. Jadeja is currently being assessed by the BCCI Medical Team,” AFP
quoted the BCCI as sating in its Twitter handle.

Australia head coach Justin
Langer was seen having a conversation with match referee David Boon
on the sidelines, supposedly on the topic of Chahal being allowed to act a
concussion substitute after Jadeja was seen limping, hit by a Mitchell Starc
bouncer in the final over of the Indian innings.
