The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday announced the Indian squad for the five-match T20 series against South Africa, which is scheduled to take place from June 9, 2022.

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, pacers Jasprit Bumrah, and Mohammed Shami have all been rested for the white-ball series. KL Rahul will be leading the team while Rishabh Pant will be the vice-captain.

Jammu and Kashmir pace sensation Umran Malik, who picked up 21 wickets in 13 games for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2022, earned his maiden national call-up along with Punjab Kings’ death overs specialist Arshdeep Singh, who picked 10 wickets in 13 innings at a brilliant economy of 7.82 rpo.

Dinesh Karthik, at 36 years of age and 18 years after he first played for India, will be making his umpteenth comeback.

Hardik Pandya has also come back to the Indian squad after the T20 World Cup last year.
