India recorded 14,264 fresh COVID-19 cases on Saturday, taking the total number of infections in the country to 10,991,651, data from the Ministry of Health confirmed on Sunday. 90 new coronavirus-related deaths were reported in the same period, taking the total death toll to 156,302.

Currently, there are 145,634 active cases in the country. A total of 10,689,715 patients have recovered from the infection so far. 

According to data from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 670,050 samples were tested on Saturday. A total of  2,10,931,530 samples have been tested so far in India.

India’s mass vaccination programme started on January 16, with a total of 11,085,173 people having been inoculated against the virus so far.
