India on Saturday recorded 18,645 new cases of COVID-19, according to data released by the Health Ministry. 201 deaths were recorded on Friday.

Thus, India has recorded 1,04,50,284 novel coronavirus cases and  1,50,999 deaths.

There are 2,23,335 active virus cases in the country, while 1,00,75,950 have recovered.

India recorded its first virus case on January 31, 2020. It has since emerged as the second-worst hit nation by COVID-19.

The first case of the novel coronavirus was recorded in late 2019 in the central Chinese city of Wuhan and has since globally infected over 88.8 million people and killed more than 1.91 million of them, as per the tally of Johns Hopkins University.
