Jasprit Bumrah left the field, with a twisted ankle, soon after lunch. However, Shami (16-5-44-5) and his other pace bowling colleagues – Mohammed Siraj (15.3-1-45-1) and Shardul Thakur (11-1-51-2) – did not let his absence dent India’s chances. The quartet neutralised Lungi Ngidi’s lion-hearted morning spell which saw him finish on 6 for 71 from 24 overs as India lost seven wickets from 55 runs to be all-out on 327.
Coming to bat with a few overs left in the day, India lost Mayank Agarwal (4) in the second innings. In total, 18 wickets fell on Tuesday.

While Ngidi and Kagiso Rabada did well in the morning, Shami did way better in the afternoon in company of Bumrah, Siraj and Shardul.
In the morning session, India received an early blow in the fourth over when Rahul tried to hook Rabada and was caught down the legside for 123.
Ajinkya Rahane (48), Ravichandran Ashwin, (4), Rishabh Pant (8), Shardul Thakur (4) and Shami (8) all fell as India faded after a promising start to its latest quest for a first test series win in South Africa.
