From the chainsaw celebration of Brett Lee to Shoaib Akhtar's chicken dance, bowlers have unusual ways of celebrating success. India's fast bowler Mohammed Siraj too did the same on Day 3 of the first Test against South Africa at Centurion by performing the famous 'siiiuuuu' celebration which is the trademark celebration style of Manchester United icon Cristiano Ronaldo.
After the visitors lost 7 wickets in the morning for just 55 runs, the team needed a good start from their bowlers and Jasprit Bumrah provided just that by getting the wicket of Proteas captain Dean Elgar. He, however, twisted his ankle while delivering the fifth ball of the 11th over of the South African first inning following which Mohammad Siraj came in to deliver the last ball of the over.
Post lunch, Siraj got the ball moving and sent Rassie van der Dussen packing. However, what caught everyone's eye was the Cristiano Ronaldo celebration style after taking the wicket. His recreation of the style didn't miss the football fans' eyes, who shared the video on social media.
The official handle of Premier League India also reacted to the same, writing, "The ???????? celebration has reached the @BCCI camp in South Africa."
After the second day's play was washed out due to heavy rain, India resumed Day 3 on 272/3, with KL Rahul and Ajinkya Rahane at the crease. Rahul departed for 123, following which the team lost wickets at regular intervals. Indian pacers lived up to their reputation by ripping through the South African top half, reducing the hosts to 109 for 5 at tea.
The fourth day's forecasts predict sunny weather with a partly cloudy sky but on the final day, there is a forecast of thundershowers.
