Neeraj Chopra, gold medal winner for India at the Tokyo Olympics, and PR Sreejesh, member of Indian hockey team’s bronze medal winning team are at Amitabh Bachchan-hosted show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) on Friday. Welcoming in the superstar sportsmen, the studio went crazy with cries of “Hindustan Zindabaad”, “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”.

As the Olympians settled down on the KBC hotseat, Amitabh Bachchan showed viewers the video of Neeraj Chopra’s winning javelin throw at the Tokyo Olympics. Watch Neeraj Chopra’s gold winning throw here:

At the Tokyo Olympics held earlier this year, Neeraj Chopra ended India’s years long wait for a gold medal.

PR Sreejesh, on the other hand, was part of the Indian men’s hockey team, which ended Indian hockey’s 41-year-long wait for an Olympic medal. Until the 1980s, India was the leader of world hockey.

Neeraj Chopra and PR Sreejesh had candid conversations with Amitabh Bachchan in the episode. Chopra recounted how never lets go off his gold medal because he is yet to receive a cover for it.

PR Sreejesh told Amitabh Bachchan how the Indian men’s hockey team was written off by the sporting fraternity after losing every single match in London 2012. Sreejesh spoke about how he and other senior members of the Tokyo 2020 team inspired youngsters and motivated them to focus only on one game at a time without thinking of the games to come.
