Former Australian cricketer Brett Lee, who will be a part of the Indian Premier League coverage, took to Instagram to host a question-answer session with his fans on Wednesday. Lee picked his favourite for the tournament and announced that MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings would emerge as the eventual winners of the tournament.

The Indian Premier League is scheduled to start from September 19 and the first match will be played between last year’s finalists Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.

Brett Lee, who recently landed in Mumbai and is currently in isolation, will be part of the IPL’s broadcasting entourage as a guest expert and commentator.

Lee fielded questions from his fans on his Instagram handle and donned the predictor’s hat expressing his opinions on the possible winners of this year’s IPL tournament.

The former Kolkata Knight Riders player answered questions posted by fans. When asked about the possible champions for this year’s IPL, Lee stated: “Hard to say but let’s go with CSK.”

Brett Lee’s pick for IPL 2020 is Chennai Super Kings.

Chennai Super Kings has been one of the most consistent teams in the Indian Premier League having won the tournament thrice. The team has also reached the playoff stage on every edition of the IPL barring the ones they had not been a part off.

CSK has also played in eight finals of the IPL, winning three.

Recently, 13 members, including two players of the CSK contingent, recently tested positive for coronavirus and had to be quarantined.

Two senior players of the team, Harbhajan Singh and Suresh Raina have also pulled out of the tournament citing personal reasons.

The two times ICC World Cup winner, Lee, also expressed his opinion about his former team Kolkata Knight Riders. When asked about KKR’s new recruit Pat Cummins, Lee stated that allrounder is “World Class.”

Lee predicted a top-four finish for KKR, saying “Definitely on the cards for KKR to be in the final four.”

Dinesh Karthik-led Kolkata Knight Riders will begin their IPL tournament against last year’s champion Mumbai Indians.

During the question-answer session on Instagram, Lee called Virat Kohli the ‘world’s best batsman’ answering a fan, but picked Rohit Sharma as the most destructive batsman this IPL.

The Indian Premier League will start in the United Arab Emirates from September 19 and was shifted from India due to the rising number of coronavirus cases in the country. The last time IPL was conducted outside India was in 2009 when the second edition of the tournament was played in South Africa due to general elections in the country.
