A video posted on social media by iconic pop singer Madonna on Sunday has stirred up debate on whether she just came out as gay. The 64-year-old singer who has publicly only dated men so far can be seen throwing a pink underwear into the trashcan in the TikTok video captioned, ‘if I miss I’m gay.’
As the controversy ensuing later suggests, her throw goes wrong and the underwear falls way ahead of the trashcan. She, however, has not given any confirmation on whether she is gay.

The singer, popularly referred to as the Queen of Pop, was taking part in a viral trend on TikTok. Wearing a cream-coloured corset on top of a white tee, the singer seemed to miss the shot deliberately and then raised her arm proudly in the air hinting that she is at peace with the outcome of the throw.
Madonna has been a vocal supporter of LGBTQIA rights in her public life and has been a leader in the industry when it comes to raising awareness on issues related to sexuality.

“I think everybody has a bisexual nature. That’s my theory. I could be wrong,” she had said in an earlier TV interview.
However, the singer has been married twice, and her ex-husbands are Sean Penn and Guy Ritchie. Page Six also reported that the singer has been dating men below the age of 28 in recent times.
Madonna fans have always assumed that she is bisexual even though she has not declared it publicly. It has been the dominant perception since she kissed fellow popstars Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.

In 2019, she won the GLAAD Media Awards in the Advocate for Change category for the continuous work she has done to promote LGBTQIA rights. While accepting the award, the singer had famously said, “Fighting for all marginalized people is a duty and an honor I could not turn my back on nor will I ever.”
