Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma’s poor form continues in IPL 2022. Rohit on Thursday was bowled for a duck when Mukesh Choudhary of Chennai Super Kings dismissed him off the second ball of the match at the DY Patil Stadium.

It was the 14th time Rohit Sharma has been dismissed for a duck in IPL, which is the most for a player. Rohit now has 114 runs in seven matches in this IPL, at an average of 16.29. His highest score is 41.

Ajinkya Rahane, Parthiv Shaw, Ambati Rayudu, Mandeep Singh, Harbhajan Singh and Piyush Chawla all have 13 ducks each.

Put to bat first, Mumbai Indians got off to a disastrous start, losing out on both of their openers for a duck. 

Captain Rohit, who has been struggling for form, offered a catch to Mitchell Santner while trying to hit an in-swinging delivery through mid-on and got dismissed for a duck off the bowling of Choudhary.

In a span of two balls, Ishan Kishan was castled for a duck. The bowler was Choudhary, again. In the final delivery of the third over, Choudhary struck for the third time in the match to dismiss Dewald Brevis. 

Suryakumar Yadav could provide some resistance, scoring 32 off 21 balls. But his stay was cut short by Santner. Mumbai Indians were reduced to 47 for 4 in 8 overs.
