The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG 2022) registration process has started on April 6 and the test will be conducted on July 17.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) said that the registration process will be on neet.nta.nic.in. The last date to apply for the test, which will be held in 13 languages across the country, is May 6. The last date to pay fee is May 7.

Candidates need to choose the language while filling the application. No change of language will be allowed post the submission of the form.

This year, there will be no upper age limit for appearing in NEET. Earlier, it used to be 25 years with a relaxation of 5 years for reserved category candidates.

NEET is for admission to UG medical courses in India, including MBBS and BDS.

Candidates need to submit an application fee while submitting their NEET UG 2022 application form. General category candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs, 1600, General EWS, OBE-NCL candidates have to pay Rs 1500 and SC, ST, PwD and Third gender candidates are required to pay Rs 900.

Documents needed for registration:

1. Post card size photo (4”X6”) in JPG format

2. Latest passport size photo in JPG format

3. Left-hand thumb impression in JPG format

4. Signature in JPG format

5. Class 10 pass certificate in PDF format

6. Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS etc) in PDF format

7. PwBD certificate in PDF format

Eligibility:

Students who have passed Class 12 final or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English subjects can register for NEET. Those appearing for Class 12 final exams this year with the above mentioned subjects can also apply for NEET 2022.

Candidates must be at least 17 years old (born on or before December 31, 2005 to appear for NEET 2022.

Exam pattern: 

The test, which will be conducted offline, will have 200 multiple choice questions from the four subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology). Fifty questions in each subject will be divided into two Sections (A and B). 

The duration of the Examination will be 200 minutes (03 hours 20 minutes).

Optional questions, introduced in NEET last year will continue this year as well.

Attempting any 10 questions out of 15 questions given in section B is mandatory. If more than 10 questions are attempted in Section B, then, only the first 10 will be considered for evaluation. There will also be negative marking for section B. Scoring will +4 for correct answers and -1 for incorrect ones.
