Supreme Court allows NEET exam to be conducted on October 14 for students who could not appear for it due to COVID-19 infection or because of residing in containment zones; results on October 16, tweeted news agency ANI.

The results for the National Entrance cum Eligibility Test (UG) 2020 is expected to be declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Monday. The entrance test for admission into medical colleges was held on September 13 with strict protocols and safety guidelines amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Education Ministry, around 85-90% of registered 15.97 lakh candidates appeared for NEET 2020 exam last month.

NEET was held even after students and opposition parties protested, asking the Indian government to postpone the examination in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the Supreme Court dismissed the petitions filed by Opposition parties seeking the postponement of entrance exams, including JEE and NEET.
