Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Sunday, paid homage to all the lives that were lost in the Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking in Chennai, PM Modi said “no Indian can forget this day’.

Two years ago, the Pulwama attack happened. We pay homage to all the martyrs we lost in that attack. We are proud of our security forces. Their bravery will continue to inspire generations,” ANI quoted Modi as saying.

February 14 marks two years of Pulwama terror attack in which 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were martyred on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway in 2019.

Adil Ahmed Dar, 22, had carried out the assault, attacking a convoy of 78 buses carrying 2,500 CRPF personnel from Jammu to Srinagar.

Pakistani terror group, Jaish-e-Mohammad, claimed responsibility for the attack amid repeated denials from Pakistan. It was found that Dar joined the group a year earlier.

In reply, India carried out an airstrike on Jaish-e-Mohammed training camp on January 26, 2019, known as the Balakot strike.
