The Indian cricket team arrived in Australia on Thursday for the upcoming series with few alterations in the squad with Rohit Sharma and Wriddiman Saha not playing for the team and fans are not happy about it.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been facing criticism for its communication with the media regarding the players’ injuries recently and this time people blamed the BCCI selectors for leaving Sharma out of all three squads for Australia and later adding him to the Test squad.

Responding to the recent criticism, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said told The Week, “Rohit is injured at the moment. Otherwise, why would we leave out a player like him? He is the vice-captain of the national (limited-overs) team.”

“It’s the BCCI’s job to get their best players on the park. If he recovers, he plays,” he added.

Speaking about the BCCI Ganguly said, “I think people don’t know how the BCCI works. The BCCI trainers, physio and Wriddhi himself know that he has two hamstring issues. People don’t understand injuries, that is why they talk rubbish.”

Sharma is ready to undergo a rehabilitation programme in Bengaluru. Saha, on the other hand, missed the final two games for Sunrisers Hyderabad due to hamstring concerns. Although, he has traveled to Australia as he is expected to be fit for the Test series.

The four-match Test series is scheduled to start on December 17 in Adelaide. Before that, India will play three ODIs and three T20Is against the hosts.
